Jess Buffett was born and raised in New South Wales, Australia Jess is a mum of two, married to her high school sweetheart She is a hopeless romantic who is a huge fan of M M and M F romance with a happy ending anything with hunky men in all their glory, whether they be Shifters, Vampires, Cowboys, or the boy next door A caffeine addict who shamefully can t make a decent cup of coffee to save her life, Jess believes in soul mates, happily ever afters, and in love at first sight, but that sometimes people need a second or a third for the brain to catch up.

  1. I liked this A no frills shifter story featuring mpreg and an unconventional animal pairing This is the start to a new series and ends on a pseudo cliffhanger reassuringly it does not involve the MC s hea However it sets the stage for even different types of shifters, and a conspiracy involving nefarious hunters is in the works I ll say I m curious enough to continue with this when the sequel comes out.

  2. For me, and please read that part that it said for me , this story felt like a horse race, everything happened so fast, it seems the author wanted to squeeze as much information as she could in 72 pages. It wasn t bad, but I can t sugar coated, you will need to read the sequel to keep going with the story, it s inconclusive and I m not very fond of those kind of finales.I like this author, I have a soft spot for her because she is Australian, but

  3. The story needs a good editor who can read through and find the issues with this story There was at least one contradicting passage in this story that I found It was stated in a conversation between Kyan and Blaise that there was no dragon shifters Blaise was pretty adamant about it when Kyan told him he wish he was a stronger or different type of shifter than being part rabbit But at the end of the story Blaise tells Kyan they found his friend Ashley He mentions the Anax,a dragon shifting clutc [...]

  4. I really liked this story BUT I would have given it all 5 stars IF it had been properly proofed I can t stand punctuation and spelling errors Drives me NUTS and ruins the story when I have to think about errors instead of the story OK getting off my soap box.

  5. 3.75 almost a 4 simply because of the Author Note at the end I hate cliffhangers But I m willing to withhold the mean scowl until I ve read the next installment Hopefully it s a bit page wise than this installment.

  6. This book is exactly what I expect from a Jess Buffet story It s a quick, entertaining read with some drama and humor This was her first story with M preg and I liked how she did it I kinda like M preg stories because I ve had 4 kids I get a kick of imagining my hubby dealing with pregnancy I enjoyed how Kyan dealt with all the insane stuff happening to him He saved his meltdowns for when it was safe and had no problem telling Blaise off if the almighty Packmaster wasn t being understanding enou [...]

  7. This may be a spoiler but I wanted to start of this book review with a little warning that this is a MPEG book I know some like that and some don t that is why I wanted to give the warning For me in this book I thought it worked So you get Kyan who has fallen for Blaise who comes into Kyan s work all the time to eat Well I cant get much into it without giving away a lot of this book because it was such a short read You get your misunderstandings, angst and sweet with this book which I thought w [...]

  8. Original review on Molly LollyFour stars I enjoyed this story I liked the scene where Blaise helped Kyan through his first shift Blaise was so gentle you could feel how much he cares Kyan seemed to take everything in stride when he found out about shifters and how the guy he went on a date with turned into a big bear There was a ton of action that had you wondering if they were going to make it The one thing I would have liked to see was maybe one less sex scene to show of Blaise and Kyan build [...]

  9. 3.5 Stars I liked Packmaster, this is a short mpreg story and an overall good start to a new series Kyan and Blaise were enjoyable characters and the promising storyline make me look forward to reading .

  10. Great readI was really surprised how this book started I didn t think I was going to like it But it got better and then I couldn t put it down.

  11. Reviewed by Nikki K for QUEERcentric BooksThe first book in Jess Buffett s Full Moon Rising series, Packmaster, hit some notes but also fell flat on others I doubt I will read any books in this series.FELL FLATThere were a number of editing errors throughout this novella A thorough editing job could have done this story a world of good For instance, when one character says to another that it s time to go on the defense, when he obviously meant the offense, it completely jerked me out of the st [...]

  12. I enjoyed this story for how short it was. There was a surprising amount fo development of relationship and world for such little time Mostly it was done in forms of things like info dumps , but a bit graceful For example, the relationship is laid out as not being instant there was a sweet courtship and a lovely logical progression, but it was told as a memory of Kyan s as he contemplated how he ended up where he was It was well done, though could have also been done fully written out and I do s [...]

  13. After a night of passion, Kyan is hurt waking up alone He thought it meant to Blaise but he picks up, dusts off his heart and disappears But he leaves carrying a bit of Blaise with him.I am usually a fan of Jess Buffett s work but Packmaster fell a short for me I loved the premise and adore male pregnancy so I was looking forward to reading this story Where it fell short for me was the connection between Blaise and Kyan Kyan ran and when Blaise found him he didn t make Blaise work for it I mean [...]

  14. This book started out rushed The prologue covered how Blaise and Kyan met and got together I wish this would have been expanded cause I really would have liked to have read their conversations and detail on the beginning of their relationship Chapter one started the story four months later and then continued on a present timeline. It s a great story overall, though The plot line is interesting, the dialogue is really good and funny love Kyan s sense of humor , but I wish the characters and relat [...]

  15. So, this is one of those shifter knocks up unsuspecting guy who is also his mate, and then they lose touch and the pregnant guy has to deal with it alone books And it works for this book Poor Kyan has been drooling over a sexy costumer for weeks and months and is overjoyed when Bryce finally asks him out on a date But then he wakes up alone the morning after, in a motel and without a note from his date I would be pissed And so is Kyan He jumps to the wrong conclusion, thinking that Bryce has dit [...]

  16. Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review Kyan has been crushing on one of his customers at the diner where he works for a long time, when Blaise asks him out to a concert, he all but jumps at the chance Things progress quickly with them and they enjoy a passionate night together, but when he wakes up, Blaise is not there, and after two hours he feels used, so he leaves When Blaise comes back with breakfast he doesn t find Kyan, and when he returns to their home [...]

  17. Very enjoyable first bookIt s been a while since I read a book by this author I was very pleased with my selection except I m still waiting for the bundle of joy I was expecting a Wolf alpha, but instead what I got were some big ole Bear shifters What a pleasant surprise The Bear Packmaster spent the story timidly watching his mate, foolishly letting him slip through his fingers paws , then ruthlessly trying to protect him once PaPa Bear finds his mate again. What initially drew me to this story [...]

  18. Packmaster Full Moon Rising Book 1 by Jess Buffett3.5 starsM M Shifter, male pregnancyI was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads. This was a strange story for me It was filled with fast paced scenes, some sweet scenes and then scenes that I was not really understanding It was also somewhat contradictory You have a shifter predator who is mated to a prey shifter, male pregnancy thrown in, a group of hunters who you know almost nothing about only that they are hunting, but no [...]

  19. Packmaster by Jess Buffett MM, Shifter, MPreg A copy of this book was provided to me by Inked Rainbow reads in exchange for an honest review 3 STARS When I read the description, I had assumed that Packmaster would be a werewolf story I was wrong lol Blaise is a bear shifter, the alpha known as Packmaster The first chapter jumped 6 months into Kyan and Blaise s meeting I was disappointed cause I wanted to read that Kyan is already on the run on chapter 2, skipping ahead to 4 months later He s bei [...]

  20. Kyan had never known true kindness, or what it felt like to be completely entranced by one personuntil he met Blaise When his life spins out of control, and a whole new world is opened up to him, he finds that the only human being he can turn to, may not even be human at all.Blaise has spent months trying to figure out the best way to approach his shy and nervous mate As the Packmaster in the small town of Rowan Oak, he isn t used to having to show restraint or patience When he finally makes his [...]

  21. Received a free copy for an honest review. This book is something like I haven t read before I love MM I really do Not sure about the pregnancy thing but I want to see what will happens next So here we meet Kyan and Blaise, after a hig misunderstanding they part ways only to find each other under very dangerous circumstances I find Blaise a bit annoying with his one word answers and gruff attitude but he is perfect for Kyan who has no idea who he is and what is going on A bit goofy and funny he i [...]

  22. Kyan s heart broke when he woke up to an empty bed and no note I mean if you are going to leave the next day with the hopes of having , leave a damn note Seeing no note, Kyan left the hotel room heartbroken. When Blaise saves Kyan months later from Hunters, I was like about time Then he realized he saved than just his mate Blaise is packmaster and no one would ever cross him, but I like how Kyan does and that they balance each other out Blaise has a soft spot for Kyan, but then that is what a go [...]

  23. I actually read the sample for this before buying and I was pretty excited about the mpreg Can t exactly point out at which the story derailed, but it sure did It was really rushed, and I think it deserved pages for the story be better developed The hunters that were so dangerous and such a threat were apparently dealt with offscreen Not to mention some contradictions And I now have to read the other books on the series to know what happens with Kyan and Blaise, cause their story wasn t exactly [...]

  24. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest reviewThis is Jess first foray into writing MPREG and I think she made a great start Kyan and Blaise are beset with bad timing, misapprehensions, angst and ultimately sweetness Kyan is snarky and clueless as to what he really is while Blaise has always been aware of his place within shifter heirarchy. This was well written and very enjoyable.

  25. Where to begin, I really love this story Both Blaise and Kyan have wonderful chemistry with Blaise one word, rough personality and Kyan sense of humor and witty personality This story made me laugh and got my inner girly to aww at there cuteness The only reason why I did not give a full 5 stars is one the baby was not yet born and left the ending with a major cliffhanger and I m not a cliffhanger fan Overall I love and can t wait for the next book.

  26. So I ll start with saying that the book is only about 72 pages so if you are after s longer read don t bother with this one That said for 72 pages the author managed to pack in a fast and entertaining story with touches of humour However, although it doesn t finish on a cliffhanger as such, it does leave a lot of things waiting for the sequel to explain and round off properly So if you don t mind a short fun and action shifter story with mpreg and a few loose ends then this is for you.

  27. This was a fast paced quirky story It has places that you laugh out loud, and a turn of the page and you want to smack Blaise across the face Blaise being the large packmaster that he is, meaning he just grunt as an answer Kyrt as his small uniformed mate is the lovable, panic attack half human, half rabbit shifter whom is now pregnant It s a great story that ends in a cliffhanger.I was gifted this book for an honest review.

  28. Slightly DisappointedI knew from the beginning that this was a MM with male pregnancy, and shifters I ve read books from this author before and liked them All of those things are what usually makes a good story for me, but Editing Editing Editing I include stating one type of shifter doesn t exist and later saying it does The reference to Supernatural that one reviewer derided, I thought was funny For me it is solely Editing Editing Editing.
