  1. Entertaining romp through Italian military prowess.Brits are prone to criticise Italian military prowess following their performance in World War 2, however this book sets out a fine record of Italian military history across the many centuries back to the Ancient World. The books is very wide ranging as it s a massive subject, but Kelly and Laycock pull it off in an entertaining way with many nuggets of unexpected information.

  2. Not knowing anything about Italian history apart from the Roman invasion here in UK and the last World Wars, I was interested in finding out .This book does not disappoint I hadn t realised that they had influences in most countries of the world both good and bad.It is a straightforward account which is easy to follow and understand.I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher Book Publisher Network via Netgalley in return for an honest unbiased review.
