  1. Reviewed by Rabia Tanveer for Readers Favorite Crossing Boarders by Debra Sue Brice is about a girl s ambition to make her name in the horse riding world Dana always had the passion to become a quality horse rider and make a name for herself in the equestrian community However, this is a privilege only a very few lucky people are able to enjoy And coming from the background she does, it is nearly impossible But she makes a very difficult decision to support her ambition, leaves her family behind [...]

  2. As a lifelong horse person and amateur dressage rider myself I was super excited to read this book I really wanted to love this book, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with it I liked the main character Dana, but I never really felt like I got to know her very well I really appreciated that since the author is a successful equestrian herself she got all the lingo and horse terminology right, it made me so happy to read a book like this by someone who really knows the sport and horses, though [...]

  3. I loved that it was a wholesome story great characters, a little mystery, obvious horse knowledge, some love interests but all written tactfully I could easily recommend this book to many of my high school students and family alike I can t wait to see what Debra Sue Brice writes next

  4. A sweet ridefast paced adventure Enjoyed the interaction among the characters A little mystery, a little romance, and a lot of fun Looking forward to the next book.

  5. Enjoyed the Christian themece to read a book that has values, and still have the characters have fun Leaves you wanting .

  6. Finding the courage to go out and follow your dreams and still keep your faith and trust in God is a difficult thing to do I liked how Dana handled the problems that came up, the difficult people she met, and the start of a romancet compromising what she believed in.Even though this book involved the love and respect of horses, you don t have to be a horse lover to enjoy a story of a young, strong, female main character.

  7. I LOVED this book I am always looking for a horse book that truly knows about horses, and this book was fabulous and it had some mystery and romance, too I couldn t put it down I m looking forward to the next one

  8. First of all, I am a huge fan of stories involving animals have been since childhood And I m also a Christian A story written by a Christian about horses and horse lovers is guaranteed to be a hit at least at some level with me.My enthusiasm was dampened only slightly by what I first perceived as a misspelling in the title Crossing Boarders as in Crossing Borders I assumed mistakenly that the book was another indie published book that had missed out on the expertise of a professional copyeditor [...]

  9. Crossing Boarders by Debra Sue Brice pulls you into the world of Dressage style horseback riding as Dana Berrelli starts to live her dream with her horse Indie But as life would have it so comes mystery, intrigue, romance and some very interesting characters But what sets this story apart from so many others is that Dana has a faith, a strong foundation in Christ Not religion but a real relationship with her maker I love when she mentions Jeremiah 29 11 and says It is such a reassuring feeling k [...]

  10. Debra Sue Brice has filled her debut novel Crossing Boarders with diverse characters, humans as well as horses Finding the courage to leave her home in Ohio and daring to try a long sought after dream in Canada while still keeping to her moral upbringing, created quite the challenge Dana s adventure turned out to be a bit surprising, as she had to decide how to handle the different situations that quickly arose Figuring out how to handle the attention of a handsome barn manager as well as learni [...]

  11. A teacher of first graders with a passion for horses and writing, Debra Sue Brice is a very talented and creative writer Her first novel, Crossing Boarders, pulls you into the world of dressage style horseback riding by telling the story of a young woman, Dana Berrelli, and her adventures in Canada with her horse Indie Dana s ambition is to make her name in the horse riding world a privilege only a few very talented an lucky people are able to enjoy But she is very determined to reach her goal T [...]

  12. I really didn t enjoy this book, but not because of the story That was ok I would have been interested if the lazy diction, constant tense jumping, and use of cliches in every other paragraph didn t hurt my brain If you don t mind reading something that was definitely not written by a professional writer, you may still like this book It seems to have quite a few good reviews.Overall, it wasn t for me I was actually sad that I paid money for it I hope the author can refine her craft in the futur [...]

  13. This is the second book I ve read by this author The author does a great job with having the reader in the head of the main character I like seeing things through Dana s eyes and her humor I enjoyed the story line although I m not really a horse person I did like learning about horses, the barn life, and following one s dreams despite not knowing how it s going to turn out A good book that I d recommend to others.

  14. I have always been amazed by horses so magnificent, so powerful and strong, yet they all eat is grain and grass and the occasional carrot To me, horses embody quite a marvelous paradox majesty on four very delicate feet This book was a sweet peek into life behind the scenes for these gentle giants and the people who cherish them most A lovely little read.

  15. I loved the book I loved the book Looking for the next in the series Mystery is thrown in This book can be read by tweets and adults.

  16. An easy, clean, enjoyable read with a twinge of romantic tension, enough mystery to hold a reader s attention, and plenty of equine adventures I blazed through this horse book.

  17. An entertaining read from beginning to end Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart That is the scripture verse that sums up the theme of this story for me From the moment Dana Berrelli leaves her family home in the U.S to journey on to Canada to train under Ms Arnot, an Olympic gold medalist, we fall under the spell of the whole adventure Despite the glamour and accolades awaiting successful prodigies, it is heartening to see Dana shun all that to put her trust in God [...]

  18. While Crossing Boarders is not a comedy it is, in fact, the story of an innocent girl who strikes out on her own for the first time I found myself literally laughing out loud on numerous occasions Dana s internal conversations were so spot on, things I think we all deal with You know, the first thought that enters your mind versus what you actually choose to say in any given situation Needless to say, I identified all too well with the protagonist s sarcastic inner voice. The story follows Dana f [...]

  19. The story follows the adventures of Dana Berelli as she travels from the U.S to Canada to train in the equestrian art of dressage for the Olympics The author really knows the subject of horses, and this comes out in her writing The subject was interesting to me as life with horses is, for the most part, outside of my experience. The story is about Dana s Olympic ambitions in part but also contains elements of mystery and romance The story is told in the first person from Dana s point of view I li [...]

  20. Crossing Boarders is a story with strong themes of faith in God and self confidence, told from the perspective of a young woman named Dana I found myself laughing throughout the book at Dana s inner monologue Her perception of the world around her is slightly cynical and often leads to sarcasm, which fits well with her hard working and confident exterior However, like all of us, she does have insecurities which sometimes lead her to the wrong conclusions in her immediate perception of people and [...]

  21. You can imagine the writer s sincere heart and ambitions as you read through the pages of the novel It portrays courage in the face of difficulties and the willingness to attain greatness She encouraged us to go in the direction of our dreams Dana portrayed this when she left her family and moved miles away in search of greatness I do not know much about horses but the writer carried me along very well without fail I enjoyed sharing the journey with her Get your copy of this book.

  22. Christian Horse StoryInteresting plot with a good twist at the end made this an enjoyable read The writing is spotty and the author could really use an editor Although I am completely immersed in the religious world, I found the evangelical tone of the book a bit forced and heavy handed, with a touch of homophobia, as well All in all, this was a nice equestrian novel with no sleaze, but a little too much preaching.

  23. A good book involving the opportunities, struggles, and choices that aspiring equestrians face.It would have gotten a higher rating, if not for the grammatical errors.
