This is a great start to a new epic kinda sorta darkish fantasy series I apologize first and foremost, I am kind of down and sick so this week s reviews wont be very long.Easiest way to describe this book is classic epic fantasy with a Celtic middle ages flair, if you are a Game of Thrones person, this will be all up in your face, you will dig it tons.Great action, very interesting world, and I care about the characters, worth your time and money to read.

  8. Great battle scenes Akers provides just the right details to bring clarity to the chaos of clashing armies Aside from those epic moments, the story follows a host of complex and highly conflicted characters A lot of work went into this tale.Looking forward to the next book The Iron Hound.

I say thank you and goodbye to this series It s not awful, but I just never got a chance to warm to the characters before there was war and all hell broke loose I thought it was a pretty cool idea otherwise pagan worshippers protecting actual deities, fallen priests of the accepted faith Ah well.

Personally I did not enjoy this book The plot was great and the characters had potential however I feel like these should have been refined There was also a lot of events and characters that the author just abandoned Will I read the next book Probably Like I said the plot was amazing and left me curious, but the thought of having to struggle though another of these books is disheartening.

This was an interesting book It started a little slow, but as you gain knowledge of the world and the gheist it became harder and harder to put down While it is part of a series I think it works as a stand alone as well, if you don t want to commit to a full series.Well worth a read for fantasy fans looking for something with some fighting, cool magic, and a bit of different approach to demons.
