A little different in terms of style of writing to what I would usually read, but rather than detract I found it allowed me to relate to the different timelines without losing track of where the characters were The plot itself is quite focused with just a few main characters, but each one is explored in detail and their roll in the events that shape the narrators For readers who enjoy intelligent coming of age novels I would recommend it.

I enjoy typical coming of age novels, but the author Sean McDevitt has taken a different perspective from which to tell his story and it worked very well The cast of characters is kept tight to develop the personalities of each one and I found it an engrossing story which was particularly well written For me it sat between 4 and 5 and in the absence of a half star feel it deserves the 5.
