  1. Margaret Gatty was both a children s book author and a collector of natural history especially seaweeds This little book combines both of her activities by providing an eclectic series of short stories, with titles going from Coral Islands to Ostracodes via Blue Snail Shells It is remarkable thinking that it was written for kids Nowadays a freshman student in Biology would for sure learn a few tidbits by reading this book Ha, the Victorian Era
